FIVE Months and FEEDING!

Isaac was 5-months-old on Saturday, the 9th.
 Things he LOVES:
His sister!
"Standing" and facing out.
Bathtime!
Watching his mommy, daddy, and sister have dance parties.
Smiles!!!
 Getting SO BIG!
Isaac tried his first round of "solids" on Sunday night.
He's taken more of a liking to the rice cereal since this video debut.

"What are you doing to me, Mom?!"
"Whew...I don't think any hit my tongue."
"Okay...that's enough!  Get that spoon away from me!"
"Seriously...I would rather play with my toes."
 Up close and personal.

And, just so you don't think that we forgot about our sweet Clare...
She's staying busy, keeping us busy,
smiling LOTS, and making us smile LOTS!
 Nature or Nurture???
Clare, like her Daddy, LOVES birds.

Anyone want to explain this picture?

Orange and Blue...GO HOPE!

As a former Flying Dutchman, I was SO EXCITED for my little man to finally fit into this shirt.  Thank you, dear friend Rachel D.  :)
Doesn't he look excited about going to Hope College someday?!
 Orange and Blue!
 All smiles for Hope!
And all smiles for kisses from Mama!

Gymnastics...A.K.A. "Stastics"

Clare has a new found love for gymnastics...
affectionately referred to as "stastics."
Maybe even more than gymnastics, she loves playing with her new buddy.
Laney Grace is the daughter of a new friend of mine,
and Clare loves showing her the ropes.
There have been many days where Clare asks for gymnastics...
 ...or Laney Grace.

A Glimpse of March

I haven't been great about blogging lately, but I've still been taking lots of pictures.  Here are a few from the past couple of weeks.
My parents have been in town, and the kiddos LOVE Mema!

 Mema loves making Isaac giggle.
 Mema getting some "sugar."

Clare has been getting lost in make-believe-land, and I love watching her use her imagination in so many new ways.
More than anything, Clare LOVES her baby brother.
Despite this look, he thinks she's pretty terrific as well.

We set up a little "office" in our garage last week.  Clare wanted to play outside, and we needed to get stuff done.  (Isn't that the daily truth?)
We brought our tasks to the garage,
and she was able to play outside for hours.  Win, win!
Why are there two nearly identical refrigerators in our kitchen?
We had to buy a "new" one last weekend because ours suddenly stopped working.  Nothing like spending a day trying to preserve all of your food and then switching over major appliances.  Just another one of life's curve balls.
Isaac recently discovered his feet, and now he's obsessed!

Clare and Daddy had some fun on the boat.
Granted, it was in our backyard...but Clare LOVED being with Daddy as he cleaned off the boat from his excursion with Tory.
Life is good.
More updates to come.

Mama's Boy

Everyone told me that there's something special
about having a little boy.
I get it now!

I love my little man.
That's all.

Chosen By God...Isaac's Baptism

On Sunday, March 6th, our littlest love was baptized.
He wore the same outfit that Phil, and all of his brothers,
wore when they were baptized.
The special event was celebrated with our dear friends and family.
Sarah and Tory are Isaac's Godparents.
Both sets of grandparents flew down for the occasion.
His local "grandparents" (John and Carol) also celebrated with us.
Mama's Little Chunk was worn out by the time everything was done.
Crashing in the car seat...a daily event for "Izzy-Roo"
(that's what Clare started calling him, and it kind of stuck).
Celebrating with cake after a delicious meal.
We were honored to have so many special people
take part in the special day.  Thank you!
"Every good and perfect gift is from above."

4-months-old TODAY!

Our little man is 4-months-old TODAY!
He's a HULK!
Here are the stats from his appointment this morning:
Weight = 17 lbs. 3.6 oz (90th percentile)
Length = 27 in. (Off the chart)
Head = 17.25 in. (90th percentile)
What do you notice first?
His adorable smile...or those beefy legs!
This Noah's Ark quilt was from Grandma Hillary.
She made it for Isaac's baptism, and we LOVE it!
All smiles!
...and quite a bit of drool.
Isaac is such a well-natured little guy.  He goes with the flow, he smiles at everyone, he loves his sister, he makes adorable noises (minus the enormous burps during my Bible study), and he brings us immense joy.  It's hard to believe that he's already four-months-old...1/3 of a year already.
SLOW DOWN TIME!

I Caved...

Clare can hear the "Popsicle Truck" from a mile away,
and she literally gets tears (of JOY) in her eyes at the sound.
I caved...and let her get a Popsicle.
The $1.25 was WELL WORTH the joy.
Don't tell Daddy!
P.S. It has been in the 80's down here...
WE LOVE FLORIDA!
