Old McMicky Had a Farm

We went to a really fun birthday party at Old McMicky's Farm...

The kids had a blast!

 Chasing after chickens...

Riding horses...

Milking cows...

 Laughing at the stinky pigs...

And getting FILTHY on the hayride!

Myles was only ONE week old during this party,
and I survived my first outing with THREE kiddos.

One week Myles...
(Hard to believe this was already six weeks ago.)

Thankfully, I had two extra sets of hands since Papa and Mema joined us at the farm.

Birthday Boy, Kyler (Isaac and Clare's buddy),
with his Mommy, Jessica (Mommy's good friend and party planner extraordinaire).

Fun Memories!

"A Day in the Life"

My sister, Ann (not that I have any other sisters, but her name deserves mentioning here), gave us a special baby gift.  She gave us a "Day in the Life" photo session with one of our favorite photographers (Abbey Saxton-Guffey...whose name also deserves mentioning).  Thank you Ann and Abbey!

Of the 186 pictures that we got from Abbey, these are some of our favorites.

Myles was exactly 3 weeks old when these pictures were taken, and we're so thankful that we captured a snapshot of this special time for our family.

Thanks again, Ann and Abbey, for making this possible.

One Month Myles

Our first month with Myles has literally FLOWN!

The big kids are absolutely enamored with him.

He thinks they're pretty interesting...
although sometimes a bit intrusive of his personal space.

His chicken legs are bulking up, and his chins are rapidly multiplying.
BUT...according to his one-month appointment, he's still a little peanut.
Weight - 9 lbs. 2 oz. = 20th percentile
Length - 21 inches = 15th percentile
Head Circumference - 15 inches = 25th percentile

Daddy is the Gas Whisperer.  I don't know if Clare and Isaac were spared of the terrible tummy issues, or if enough time has passed that we've forgotten the intensity of it, but Phil has effectively learned how to relieve the gas that plagues Myles' poor little tummy every night.  I can do another post on that later.  :)

Even though it has only been one month, and we've had tremendous help and support since he was born, we feel like the transition from 2 to 3 kiddos has been easier than 1 to 2.  I may rescind that comment down the road.
A friend took some newborn pictures last weekend.
These were on my camera, but I think it's an amateur glimpse of what hers will look like.  Yeah!

Myles has become a great night-time sleeper.  Over the last week, he has slept a few 8-9 hour stretches.  We typically put him down for good around 9:00 or 9:30 PM, and he sleeps soundly until 5:30ish.  The first few weeks weren't that smooth, but we're counting our blessings now.

Papa was here for 4 weeks, and he was a hero to all of us.  The kids loved going on countless outings with him, and I was blessed to have so much one-on-one time with Myles.  Win-Win-Win!!!

I am so thrilled to have another little boy.  I always thought that I was going to be a mother of little girls, but I just can't get enough of my little boys.

Just for Fun...

Isaac is "Free"

This little guy is now 3...or as he calls it..."FREE!"

I know it is totally cliche to say that it feels like just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital, but I really can't believe that he is already 3.

Until 4 weeks ago, he was still my baby.

Now he's the big boy.

Isaac has a great sense of humor, and he knows when he's being funny.

He LOVES animals, and he has no fear (almost to a fault).

He enjoys being around people...especially Papa and Sissy.

This was his first birthday present (a day early), and he was pretty pumped!

The birthday boy had fun with balloons decorating the house, McDonalds for breakfast (with Papa, Daddy, and Clare), Chick-Fil-A for lunch with the whole gang, and some special gifts from family.

Zip Track was the highlight of the day...and not just for the birthday boy.

The fact that we've already gone through three batteries indicates two things: the car has poor battery life, and the Zip Track has already provided hours of fun, entertainment, and creative play!

Isaac requested a Bob and Larry cake.  I've never bought a professional cake, and I didn't think that this was the time to start.  So, with my limited decorating prowess, this was Isaac's birthday cake.

He certainly didn't mind that it looked kind of funny, and he consumed ample amounts of frosting to top off his fun-filled birthday.

He sang "Happy Birthday" to himself throughout the day, and I think it was an all-around great day for our little "free" year-old.
Big Boy:
38 lbs of solid BOY
40 inches tall
(Both of which are in the 90th - 95th percentile)

- Telling Knock Knock Jokes
- Being Outside
- Animals of any kind
- Popsicles

- Going to the park
- Puzzles
- Cars, Trucks, Trains
- Putting things together and taking them apart

Isaac Isn't Fond Of:
- Vegetables
- Pooping on the Potty
- Waiting
- Keeping his shoes on
- Bug Bites (he scratches them until they bleed and scar)
- Being so far away from family

I have such a soft spot in my heart for Isaac.  He is tender-hearted, goofy, energetic, playful, and full of life.  He's my special little man, and I can't wait to watch him grow up!  Happy 3rd Birthday, Isaac John!
