Birthday Cake for Jesus

Clare loves baking with Mama, so she was thrilled to participate in the tradition of baking a birthday cake for Jesus.

 We were also excited to wear our new aprons from Aunt Elissa and Uncle Adam.  They definitely enhanced the baking process.  :)

 Not only did Clare help bake the cake, she also decorated it...

 ...and ATE it!!!

 She licked her bowl clean as I went back for seconds...and thirds.

Figured that I should include a picture of my little man...

Family Fun

December has been full of family and fun.

 G and G Hillary joined us in Florida at the beginning of the month, and Uncle Brian, Aunt Marcie, Jeb, and Grant joined them a week later.

 Clare LOVE, LOVE, LOVED having time with her cousins.

 Phil even "got" to spend a day at Busch Gardens
when he wasn't working.

 He finally got to witness the fun that Clare has there.

 Silly cousins and LOTS of giggles!

 Jeb loved holding baby Isaac.

Aunt Marcie didn't mind it too much either.

 We wish that we lived closer to family.

 This is just a TINY glimpse of the joy we had while they were here.

We miss you guys!!!

Any Resemblance???

We're still trying to figure out who Isaac looks like.

Hefty Hefty

Isaac was one month old last Thursday.

Where does the time go???

 Our little peanut is not so little anymore.

 He weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs. 3 oz. and 22.5 inches.

 They didn't measure his chins, but he's working on his third.

 Don't worry, Isaac...

you'll be able to keep up with Clare soon enough.

Wish Bone

We taught Clare about the wish bone this week.

  It took a while for her to understand the concept of pulling it apart.

 I don't think she fully grasped the concept of making a wish either.

 The greasy fingers were probably her favorite part...

 ...although she feigned believable excitement 

upon having the bigger half of the bone.

I don't think Isaac shared her excitement.

What did she wish???

Random Glimpses of the Past Couple of Weeks

We've been busy. 

Imagine that!

Isaac's nearly a month only, yet I feel like he was just born.

The time is already going by too quickly.

 What would our blog be without the occasional "Clare in the Air" shot?!

This picture is already a couple of weeks old, 

and he looks different every day.

We love him more and more each day.

These are a Few of My FAVORITE Things...

I love my handsome husband and growing children, Saturday mornings, sitting by the lake at my parent's house, eating Fisher's Caramel Corn at the beach in Delaware, playing games, and spending time with friends.  What do all of these things have in common?  They can all be chronicled and preserved through one of my favorite websites...SHUTTERFLY.  

I love Shutterfly!

I'm in the process of putting together our Christmas Card, and it's a hard decision as to which format to use.  The first one that caught my eye was this one:

I like the idea of having multiple pictures, 

and the "H" would be fun to represent "Hillary."

I also found a few that I liked in the Holiday Cards section:

Since those only have one picture, I would have to find one of my all-time favorites from the past year.  That might be tough.  Maybe one of these could work:

If I can't choose a favorite picture I always have my annual Shutterfly Calendar that I can fill with pictures.  I've made calendars on Shutterfly for the past five years, and my family has come to expect it.

With this card, I could do a large family picture as well as a small picture of Clare and a small picture of Isaac.  I was kind of hoping to combine our 2010 Christmas card with Isaac's birth announcement, and I think that could work on this card.

Clare's Adjustment to Baby Bruver

I think that Clare is getting used to the idea 

that her "baby bruver" is here to stay.

She loves holding Isaac and telling him that she loves him.

 We're still working on "GENTLE."

 Mema and Papa gave her a special baby boy doll that she takes care of when we're taking care of Isaac.

 Her baby likes riding in the stroller.

 Clare had to test out the Moby wrap...

 ...or maybe it was Phil who had to test it out.

 Clare seems to have grown up so much in the last two weeks!
