One Year of Found Treasures!

Last year, we started collecting all of the random change that we found. Instead of just throwing it in the regular change jar, we kept a separate "Found Jar." We kept track of the findings for a full year, and we were shocked by the accumulation of treasures.
Random Finds:
2 Canadian Quarters
1 Canadian Nickel
1 Five Pence
1 Bahamian Penny
5 various arcade tokens (pictured above)
1 Checkers Burger token
1 Million Dollar Bill

Pennies = 341 = ($3.41)
Nickels = 31 = ($1.55)
Dimes = 61 = ($6.10)
Quarters = 19 = ($4.75)
$1 bills = 3
$5 bills = 1 (This was a TERRIFIC find...in a pile of leaves in the neighborhood...probably some kid's lunch money.)

TOTAL LOOT = $23.81

Year number one was a success, and we started back over at zero for year number two. We're fully aware of the dorkiness of this "game," but $23.81 isn't bad for simply keeping our eyes open.

That's funny cause I was thinking of doing the same thing this school year. I love finding money when I am out running or walking. Happy to report I found two pennies today on my run:) I think we must get our thriftiness from Grandma and Grandpa Durham:)

Chris gives me a hard time whenever I stop to pick up a penny, because the PT in him seems my future back pain from bending over. I disagree. Last night at Ben and Jerry's I saw $0.27 left over on a table when some girls left and I totally swiped it! (I cleaned off their trash as a swap for the money I stole)

haha, Ann you are so funny! I hope Chris is teaching you to bend your knees. It really makes your quads quite strong. : )

Corrie, what will you do with your money???
