These are some of the excuses Clare has given us upon coming out of her room
when she's supposed to be sleeping:

- "Bob and Larry told me to."
- "I think I heard thunder or fireworks."
- "I need you to cut the tag off my _________"
(fill-in-the-blank for any item that still has tags).
- I need to help Isaac eat his Cheerios."
"I need to wash my finger because I just touched my bottom."
"My legs itch."
(This is probably the only valid excuse we've heard...
as you can see from the pictures below).
Her sweet little legs were attacked,
and she itched them until they were swollen and totally enraged.
Drum Roll....I think this is my current favorite:
"I just sneezed, and my room is all wet."

How Funny!!!! The I just touched my bottom one is pretty great, but the sneezing causing a room to be all wet is the best for sure.
I love it! They may get more mischievous as they age, but at least they get more entertaining too!
What about, "I need to tell Mommy and Daddy that when it's dark and they are asleep I'll wake up to go potty."

Hey, you can't complain about good hygiene!! :) The "bottom" one is hilarious.
In Clare's defense (please don't bring this up when I have small children however), she spends more than a third of her life in bed. Of course she's going to have questions or concerns that can't wait until morning! :)
My favorite is, "I need to wash my finger because I just touched my bottom." Hands down. How can you possibly keep a straight face when she says something like this?!
