Thanks to General Mills, through MyBlogSpark.com, we've been able to try the new packaging that General Mills created to make the product better for the consumer and better for the environment.
- By reducing the amount of air in each individual bag, these enhanced containers fit 10% more cereal than before and use less packaging.
- While each box contains more cereal, packaging material has been reduced by over 200,000 lbs, saving 1,000 trees and taking 130 Cheerios trucks of the road, decreasing CO2 emissions.
That may look like a few lines of meaningless statistics, but it means that General Mills is committed to making a quality product, and MyBlogSpark has partnered with them to make them available to US!

It makes total sense... more Cheerios and less packaging. I wish more products would do this.
Three cheers for Cheerios! Well done jumping on a concept that makes total sense environmentally. Today we reviewed funding applications for student projects that benefit the earth, and it's about time large companies follow suit.
My family loves Cheerio's too! Because we own a recycling company I see hundreds of boxes of cereal being recycled a week. While that is a great accomplishment in itself, the work of General Mills as a company to work on its efficiency and packaging gets a round of applause from me! Yummy cereal that is healthy for my kids and packaging that is healthier for the environment? YES PLEASE!
More Cheerios with less packaging?! How could you go wrong?! More Cheerios for those little nubby hands to stuff their faces with and less space in the cupboard...win, win, win. And free boxes...you know this girl can't pass that up!
