Why the tears?
Why the shame?
Why, oh why, oh WHY???
Our little Rapunzel let down her golden hair this afternoon.
After noticing wispy bangs that have never been there,
the conversation went something like this:
Me: "Why does your hair look different?"
(My Mom taught me to avoid "yes" and "no" questions in situations such as this.)
Clare: "I cut it."
Me: "WHY?"
Clare: "It was getting in my eyes, and I couldn't see my craft...so I just cut it."
Me: "Where did you put the hair?"
Clare: "Just on the floor in your room."
The picture above is what we pulled out of her ponytail...
not what we found on the floor in our bedroom.
She was very remorseful (as you can see in the video above), and she didn't want to look at the clumps of hair that I kept pulling out of her ponytail. She cried for quite a while, and she kept saying, "I want long hair again."
Thankfully, the major damage was on just one side of her head. It is very obvious to me, but it could have been MUCH WORSE! Hopefully, this was a one-time learning experience...as it was for my sister, Ann/Ninnie, when she was about this age.

Sorry, but I am laughing out loud over here. I rarely see Clare so out of sorts, and her pouts are so stinkin' cute! Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. :)
She is going to KILL you when she sees that post as a teenager!! Such a sweet, innocent reason, "I couldn't see my craft." You melt my heart, Clare Bear!
Hahaha. That video was worth the wait. :) I love that she made it so easy by running away in a circle. Soon she'll get the running "away" part :) You can tell her that when I was four, David cut off my pigtail braid AT my head, so it could've been way worse for her :)
Fun story!!
