Backyard Bananas

These bananas have been growing in our backyard for months. It was finally time for them to be picked.
Bananas GALORE!
This was after a couple days of ripening.
Banana BLISS!
Clare's Mama is a monkey,
and the banana doesn't fall too far from the tree.

That just made my day for OH so many reasons!!
1) You FINALLY posted again - slacker!
2) That last picture of Clare is a-dorable!
3) Our bananas clearly fell from the same tree, because we are probably the only two people in the world who would photo-document and post such a series of events!!
4) Bananas...enough said!
5) I love you!

Great recipe for bananas:

First, you need to slice and freeze your ripe bananas (the kind that are all brown and spotty, that no one likes to eat). Slice them and lay them on parchment/wax paper til frozen, then put in freezer bag/container.

For the Ultimate Banana Shake:

Using your blender, blend together:
*1 cup milk
*1-1.5 frozen bananas (we just guess; the more you use, the thicker the shake will be!)
*1-2 T. peanut butter

Play with the measurements (I always guess) until the perfect taste and consistency!

My girls LOVE these, as do I!

Now, I buy a few extra BUNCHES of bananas EACH week just to freeze! We are going through them so fast!

Enjoy!

Hey Chiquita, cute picture of you with the banana bowl! : ) Haha. That is awesome! I'm glad Clare loves her little tiny bananas so much. That shake recipe looks delicious, too! : ) Why not a little Hershey's Syrup while you're at it?
