Run Wild For Wildlife

I used to call myself a runner.
After completing last week's 5K at Busch Gardens, I must reconsider.

My dad, the marathon man, ran next to me the whole time.
Clearly, he was unphased (waving and smiling) by the 3.1 mile run.  I, other hand, was soaked in sweat and completely out of breath when we crossed the finish line.

Clare was the youngest competitor.

She crossed the finish line with Daddy.

The crowd went wild!  :)

She wore her medal with pride.

The 1st annual "Run Wild For Wildlife" was a casual "race."
Thankfully, there was no official time,
BUT they did award the top three male and female finishers with special "backstage" tours in the park.

I somehow managed to finish third...
which says more about the other runners than it does about me.

Ha, that picture of your Dad waving reminds me of my first 5K I ran with Hillary this summer! She was smiling and waving like your Dad, and I was at death's door!

Good for you for getting out there and doing it! Did Clare actually do the whole thing with Phil, or just the finish?

Oh, and I'm glad you find my blog amusing. Don't let Phil read it though, NO boys allowed! As far as Biggest Loser goes, I'm rooting for Danny now. I really like him, even if he is BFF's with that old hag Liz.

You ARE a rockstar! I love that Clare finished it too, truly a family affair, and I love that (it seems, anyway) your parents make the trip as often as they do!
