Do you know what a Lubber (pronounced loober) is?
My sweet daughter has a ridiculous obsession with them.
RIDICULOUS!
I can assure you (although I'm sure no one doubts this) that this fascination did not stem from me. Not in any way have I encouraged this obsession...although the same can't be said for another adult in my house.
Clare LOVES it when it's lubber season,
and it's lubber season.
They're everywhere...
Including our driveway, the gardens, our front door,
and the ceiling of our garage.
YES...this is our daughter ON TOP OF OUR VAN...
with the ultimate goal of catching that lubber.
Where might she get such an idea???
As aforementioned, I wash my hands of this...
although not so far as to refrain from videotaping it.
AND HERE IS WHERE THE OBSESSION
HAS SPUN OUT OF CONTROL!
This little video is only a tiny glimpse of the absolute unraveling of my little lubber lover. Daddy was at work, and Mommy wasn't as keen on playing with bugs. Take a look.

At the rate that these Lubers are growing, Clare will be able to ride them to school in a few years. When I was in Florida, I would pick them up with a stick and let them walk from the stick to Clare.

That is maybe the funniest video ever! Loved when she was upset when you explained that it would be "an serious act of love" to pick up a Lubber.
If I were you, I may fear for what gets brought into the house when the kids are a little older:)
That was one of the most fascinating videos ever, I had my hand over my mouth when you were picking it up thinking "Oh my goodness, she's really going to do it!!". You are one brave mama, and that video should be played the week before all major holidays to remind Clare why she has the best mom EVER!
At the beginning, it could have been construed as child abuse/neglect with the crying child outside and the mother videotaping it from the safety of the screen door. But then LOVE trumped all...or at least attempted to trump all. Poor Clare Bear, has a sissy for a mama! Just kidding, she has an amazing mama!
