"In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations."
When Clare was born, we seriously considered using cloth diapers. We bought a few "all-in-one diapers," and we really wanted to make it work. I'm sorry to say that it didn't happen, and we resorted to using disposable diapers. Every time I wad up a used diaper,
I think about how long it will sit in the landfill.
I think about how long it will sit in the landfill.
Seventh Generation is different:
Their diapers "now have an improved environmental footprint, due to a
redesigned core that is more efficient at absorption and uses less
processed chlorine free wood pulp."
I've heard about Seventh Generation, but it wasn't until recently that we sampled this product. Thanks to Seventh Generation through MyBlogSpark.com, I was able to try these environmentally diapers for FREE! MyBlogSpark sent me a pack of diapers, and they're going to send a pack to one of my lucky friends as well. They look a bit different than the diapers we are used to because they don't have anything on them: no pictures, no color, no prints, and no "fluff." Considering the location of diapers, does that really matter?! :)

I think they're great! I agree that disposables are much easier, but it is concerning how many you use and how long they sit in the landfill. Thankfully, we have Dy-dee diaper service out here, which is very environmentally friendly with the way they wash and deliver their diapers. There's no way I could wash cloth for 2 babies, but Dy-dee does it for me! It's important to me to teach my kids good habits by setting a good example, so that our earth is a good place to live for many generations to come.
Sounds like a great idea! We use cloth for that same reason... And we love them! This sounds like a wonderful alternative that still gives you the convenience of disposables but is more earth-conscious.
Well, I don't have kids, but you know I'm a fan of eco-friendliness! Considering the number of babies buns that need covering around the world, I think alternatives to ordinary diapers are important. Actually, I'm a fan of the alternative I saw in Cambodia...diaperless infants! Since that's not very practical, I'm glad there are options like cloth, Dy-dee, and SEVENTH GENERATION!!
We've used this brand for the last years. We LOVE them. I buy them on Amazon and they are shipped to my front door monthly. I love that they biodegrate (I'm a bit crunchy) and Mike loves that they are cartoon free (he doesn't like our kids advertising for Disney and whatnot).

Oh, and no bleach. Our skin is our largest organ, so we try to minimalize the chemicals that go on our skin.
