It's hard to feel like we're approaching the holidays when the weather is still in the 80's, and we're playing outside in shorts and tank tops. However, setting up the Christmas tree helped us get in the holiday spirit.
Clare enjoyed "helping" for about 22 seconds, and then she wanted Play Doh.
Isaac had to be detained after about 22 seconds because he simply wanted to remove everything that we set up.

She did, however, create the star for the top of our tree.
If efforts to start a new tradition, and to complete the top of our tree, we let Clare decorate the star that Phil cut out of a cardboard box. The two of them spray-painted it before Clare took to it with markers and stickers.
Perfect!
Now...it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Love the star! It's perfect.
Every morning after breakfast C. walks into the living room and talks to the tree from about two feet away, for about two minutes straight. Knock on wood, but so far she hasn't touched.
Looks great! We just put ours up tonight, so we'll see how much Kassidy wants to get at it in the morning. :)
I can relate to the "it doesn't feel like Christmas" feeling living in the desert in a Muslim country!
