As I sit here and type, I am surrounded by the sounds of crying children.
One of my recent posts was titled, "Best. Job. Ever."
Today's title is assuredly quite different.
While I still feel that I have the best job ever, it's not always easy.
Isaac is literally screaming NON-STOP, but I know that he's tired.
Clare is standing at her door saying, "Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy."
A dear friend, Lisa, recently commented on how my blog always depicts happy and all-put-together children. That is by design. Naturally, I'm not inclined to post about the low points of our days or when my 3-year-old says that she wants to grow a new Mommy. I will say, however, that every day has its challenges.
Raising children is not easy, it's not always fun, and it's generally a thankless job (although my husband is exceptional when it comes to showing his gratitude and appreciation).
With consistency, perseverance, unconditional love, and lots of prayer...
we make it through every day.
And now (in the eight minutes it took to create this post)...
both children are sleeping, the house is quiet, and I can finally shower.

I hear ya sister! I do my best to paint a lovely picture of our life too, and have yet to post images of my 15 month old hanging on my leg, moaning, while I try and cook dinner.
You are doing wonderful at what turns out to be a really hard job!
Oh, and if you haven't read this already, you should.

Love your post... I can only imagine what life with two little ones holds on "those days". Hope they slept for a long time and you got some peace and quiet. :)
I think all moms can shout a hearty AMEN! to your post. That's what I love about blogs like your's (and mine) though...it's the "flying," the incredible husband taking such good care of you, the first day of school, etc. etc. etc. that merit documentation, that your readers want to see, and ultimately that your children will one day want to look back on.
You are clearly an amazing family, inspiring actually. But seriously sister, you ain't got no one fooled:-) This job is TOUGH! But then as my mom has always said, "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy!"
I just want to know what you did to my grandchildren to make them cry. Why don't you do something like papa does and just take them to MacDonalds or Chuckie Cheese or something like that?
Send them to Ninnie...
Too funny! I was thinking "Finally, a crazy day!" It's probably good for me to hear about these so that I don't go into motherhood someday hoping for the picture you paint of your children. :) Though I'd like to think I've seen enough meltdowns in my office to know what I'm in for!
This post will reassure me that I'm not a bad mom someday, so thank you.
I love your mom's "subtle" sarcasm!
